Municipality of the District of Lunenburg
|
The Municipality of the District of Lunenburg is the third largest rural municipality in Nova Scotia in terms of total property assessment and encompasses a geographic area representing over 432,000 acres.
The District is home to a growing population of over 26,000 and is considered one of the "hot spots" for development and growth in Nova Scotia.
Rich in charm and history, we offer a safe, rural lifestyle with wonderful seaside communities, sparkling coves and beaches, miles of Atlantic shoreline and numerous recreational lakes. All of this within a short commute to the large metropolitan area of Halifax. |

Clean Across Nova Scotia is a brand new initiative that aims to bring together 25,000 volunteers from across Nova Scotia for the most impressive act of collective stewardship in our province’s history. Please consider hosting your community cleanups on June 8 & 9 this year, as this initiative is meant to highlight the fantastic work that is already happening through the ongoing Great Nova Scotia Pick Me Up and related activities across the province. It’s meant to connect volunteers, communities, government and organizations to tackle waste issues at a whole new level.
Clean Across Nova Scotia is part of the global cleanup movement called ‘Let’s do it!: World Cleanup 2012’, and 85 countries have already committed to massive cleanups in their own regions – with more joining all the time. Over 300 million people in more than 100 countries are expected to take part this year – the biggest volunteer action in the modern world. To learn more about Clean Across Nova Scotia, click here.
