Are you a local artist looking to contribute your skill and talent to the new skatepark being built in Bridgewater? If so, the Grinders Square All Wheels Park Committee would like to hear from you.

“We received a donation of 50 blank skateboard decks from Propour Concrete Services and Sportwheels, and we’re looking to partner with local artists to make them beautiful,” said Britt Vegsund, Active Living Coordinator for the District of Lunenburg and Committee member. “With their help and talent, each board will be turned into a work of art that will be displayed at public buildings, cafés and farmers’ markets in July.”

Completed boards must be returned to the Committee by June 15. The boards will be auctioned off at an event in July (to be confirmed). All proceeds from the auction will go towards building the park. Artists wishing to participate in Skate of the Art should contact Britt Vegsund at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or 902-541-1336.

The new skatepark will be owned by the Town of Bridgewater. Significant financial contributions have already been committed by the Town of Bridgewater, with contributions from the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg and corporate sponsors. The funds raised by Skate of the Art will add to the contributions raised by a crowd-funding campaign.
