Municipality of the District of Lunenburg
Waste collection in the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg is every two weeks. To find out which day and week your waste collection takes place, please check your calendar (click here or cover icon at left for the full calendar). Neighbours are a good resource as well!
On your collection day, place all four waste streams (recyclables, paper, organics and garbage) at the side of the road. Check out our "How to Recycle" page for more detailed information on sorting your waste.
Place your solid waste to the curb, ensuring that it doesn’t interfere with pedestrians or snow removal. Please have your items placed for collection prior to 7:00 a.m. Waste placed incorrectly will not be collected.
Special and holiday collections are published in the annual collection calendar. Please remember that collection times can change due to staffing, weather, traffic, construction, etc. Cancellations are advertised with local media.
See the Waste Collection Bylaw for the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg for more information on set-out limits and so on.
On some routes all residents are required to place their waste on one side of the road, which makes collection easier. You can find out which side your waste should be on by calling Public Outreach at the Community Recycling Centre 543-2913, or by watching to see what the neighbours do!
