Household Hazardous Waste

Have you got some leftover paint taking up space in your garage? How about empty propane tanks from your last camping trip? Or maybe car fluids, like old oil, or transmission and brake fluids?

These materials, and a long list of others, are considered hazardous waste; proper disposal of these items is important to protect our wells, waterways and oceans from severe contamination.

Residents of the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg, and the Towns of Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and Bridgewater, can bring these substances to the Household Hazardous Waste Depot at the Lunenburg Regional Community Recycling Center in Whynotts Settlement for free.
