About the role
As a grounds keeper, you are responsible for ensuring MODLS parks, trails and open spaces are safe, clean and welcoming spaces for all users. This position assists in the maintenance and upkeep of all our recreation sites, including the Municipal Activity Recreation Complex (MARC).

Is this you?
As the ideal candidate, you possess:

  • High School Diploma
  • A minimum of 6 months - 1 year of related experience in a maintenance role
  • Possess good construction and mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledgeable in the operation of power tools and landscaping equipment
  • Possess a valid driver license and maintain good driving record
  • Certifications: Emergency First Aid, CPR, WHMIS, Chainsaw Operation or willing to obtain
  • Hard working, efficient, pays close attention to detail
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Good customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment

Work Conditions

  • Exposure to elements and weather conditions
  • Physical effort including lifting to 25kg.
  • Extensive periods of continual movement/lifting
  • Work with tools and machinery
  • Hike trails with tools

Conditions of Employment

  • One (1) Term Position Available (April 1, 2024 – November 30, 2024)
  • Based on 40-hour work week
  • Additional hours will be required depending upon work demands, including Saturdays and Holidays
  • Wage: $ 22.38 - $ 29.10 / per hour (April 1, 2024), commensurate with qualifications and experience
  • Work locations are spread throughout the municipality
