BRIDGEWATER, NOVA SCOTIA – A beautiful piece of property on the west side of the LaHave River in Conquerall Bank has been acquired by the Municipality for use as a day park.

"Acquiring open space to address present and future need is part of the Municipality’s Open Space Strategic Plan," said Mayor Carolyn Bolivar-Getson. "We are planning today to ensure public access for tomorrow."

"I am pleased to see the District obtain public access to the west side of the LaHave River in time for the busy summer season. Getting water access on the west side of the river has been important, and something I’ve been working on for many years. I’m happy we were finally successfully in obtaining access for our residents," said Councillor Martin Bell.

The naming of the park, amenities, parking and an opening date have yet to be determined.

Updates on the park will be posted as they become available on
