BRIDGEWATER, NOVA SCOTIA – On Thursday, July 20, 2017, the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg received permission from Justice Wood to intervene in the Judicial Review of the South Shore Regional School Board’s March 22, 2017 decision to close the Petite Riviere School. 

The Municipality will be permitted to submit a 20-page brief and 10-minute oral argument at the hearing scheduled for September 7, 2017.

The Municipality held a well-attended Rural School Closure Community Meeting on Wednesday, July 19 at the LaHave Fire Hall, and has a second event planned for Monday, July 24 at the Northfield Fire Station.
