MUNICIPALITY OF THE DISTRICT OF LUNENBURG, NOVA SCOTIA – The Municipality of the District of Lunenburg has donated $10,000 in emergency funding to the Canadian Red Cross to assist families that have been affected by the effects of Fiona.

“While we faced relatively minor issues here in Lunenburg County, other areas, like Cape Breton and Port aux Basques, faced significant damage,” said Mayor Carolyn Bolivar-Getson. “Council voted unanimously to make this donation to help support those communities experiencing urgent need. We would like to express our sincerest condolences to the families of the three individuals who are believed to have lost their lives during the storm, and to those who are having to rebuild homes and businesses.”
